Choosing a Location | Cleveland Family Photographer and Filmmaker

When I am looking for a good location for photos, I look at the general feel of the place, the scenery, and the LIGHT. The light may be the most important part of finding a good location and makes a huge difference in the quality of the photographs.

If you have a special place in mind for your photo session, I am all for it. I just want to visit ahead of time to make sure the lighting will work for us.

Here are some general categories of locations where your photo session can take place:

  1. Parks & Fields - you can’t go wrong with photos in nature. Sessions can be very relaxed when we are in a quiet park. You can let your little ones run and play without too much worry.

  2. Urban Areas - architecture in these areas can really add to a photo’s overall look. That being said, if you have small children, extra people, traffic, or distractions can all make it harder to relax and enjoy your family.

  3. Beaches - I think I have visited every beach in the city and have made a list of my favorites! If this is something you are interested in, I will happily share.

  4. Indoors - Some people want to take photos in the coziness of their homes. In-home newborn sessions seem to be easier on parents since taking a newborn anywhere is a process. There are also a few great indoor locations around Cleveland that we can talk about!

If you don’t know where you want your photo session to be, don’t worry! I have a list full of places and we can work together to find the perfect one for you.
